Documentation Center

A reference library in economics and applied mathematics

Research and teaching at the Centre d’Économie de la Sorbonne are supported by the documentation centre. It is a reference library in the field of economics and applied mathematics.

One of its main missions is to enhance the value of research work in the HAL institutional archive. To do this, it supports researchers, teacher-researchers and doctoral students from the 8 scientific programmes of the laboratory as well as the PHARE host team (EA 7418) by offering workshops and individual meetings on HAL, the open archives and Science and the creation of researcher identifiers (e.g. IDHAL, ORCID). In addition, the Documentation Centre publishes and manages the collection of CES Working Papers archived on the RePEc and HAL platforms.

The documentary policy favours the provision of documents online and thus offers statistical and financial databases, some of which are purchased with the libraries of the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne.

The librarians provide more than a hundred hours of training in information skills for master’s students (documentary and statistical research, management of bibliographical references) and doctoral students on current topics (digital identity, publishing for the first time, research of macroeconomic and financial data, monitoring, etc.).

A CollEx labelled library for its collections and services

The Documentation Centre was awarded the Collex label “Collections of Excellence” in January 2018.
This label distinguishes both the quality of its reference documentary collections and the quality of the research support services it offers.

These collections and services will be promoted by the Groupement d’Intérêt Scientifique (GIS) CollEx Persée, particularly in the context of a mapping of research excellence funds.
